Chelsea has been appointed to serve in various leadership positions in different mass tort litigations, including serving on the Plaintiff Steering Committee in the multi-district litigation (MDL) proceeding, In Re: Bard Implanted Port Catheter Products Liability Litigation, pending in the United States District Court for the District of Arizona. Chelsea has also been appointed to serve on the Plaintiff’s Executive Committee in the multi-district litigation (MDL) proceeding In Re: AngioDynamics, Inc., and Navilyst Medical, Inc. Implanted Port Catheter Products Liability Litigation, pending in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.

Chelsea also handles toxic tort cases involving companies whose wrongful conduct exposes large groups of people to dangerous chemicals and other hazardous substances. These cases often involve injuries to hundreds and even thousands of individuals. Her experience includes working on cases involving exposure to TCE, PCE, and AFFF.

Background & Experience

Chelsea first entered mass tort practice through her work in the transvaginal mesh (TVM) multidistrict litigation (MDL). She helped numerous women pursue justice through TVM claims and saw firsthand how mass tort work can empower large groups of injured people to stand up to powerful corporations, which they could not realistically confront alone. Building on that experience, Chelsea expanded her practice into additional mass tort matters and then toxic torts.

Chelsea attended Creighton University School of Law in her hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. In law school, she clerked for the Federal Public Defender for the District of Nebraska and wrote for the Creighton Law Review. Chelsea’s law review publication on the search incident to arrest exception has been cited in numerous law reviews, court briefs, an Indiana Court of Appeals decision, and The Encyclopedia of the 4th Amendment.

Prior to law school, she attended Valparaiso University in Indiana where she studied Journalism, English, and French. In her background as a journalist, Chelsea worked at the local Fox affiliate in Omaha and gained extensive writing, interviewing, and investigation experience. These skills translated well into her work as an attorney and in investigating her clients’ cases.
